The United Nation has since 1973 declared 5th June of every year as World Environmental Day. The theme for the year’s celebration was ‘Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience’. 2024 marks the 51st Anniversary of the World Environmental Day and was hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which has overtime demonstrated pioneering efforts as part of commitments to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030) in restoring degraded landscape, combating desertification and building resilience to drought thus, advancing efforts to achieve environmental conservation and sustainability. The Bosomtwe District Assembly participated in the tree planting exercise in Duasi Community.
