COMMISSIONING OF 1NO. 10 SEATER WATER CLOSET TOILET FACILITY WITH MECHANIZED BOREHOLE AT WOARAKOSE

The District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe District Assembly, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Asuming, Esq. commissioned a 1No. 10-Seater Water Closet Toilet Facility with a Mechanized Borehole at Woarakose on Friday, 24th June, 2022.

The Assembly Member of the area, Hon. Annin Eric, in his welcome address acknowledged the DCE for the great works he has done for the people of Woarakose. He stated that the DCE has helped them in the arrangement of the celebration of their upcoming Woarakose Festival, which is “Kotwekose Festival”. He again thanked the DCE in helping them in the building of the teacher’s bungalow when he served as the Assembly member and also help them in acquiring electricity and streetlight bulbs. He pleaded with the DCE to fight in bring one TVET project to the community.

The Acting Woarakose Chief, Nana Tuffour Agyei Ababio, thanked the Hon. DCE and the Assembly for every project he has done for the people of Woarakose. He stated in his briefing that their festival did not have a name but due to the hard work of the Hon. DCE, it is now “Kotwekose Festival”. He said that the last time they celebrated their festival was in 2019, and now they thanked the DCE for their upcoming festival. The Woarakose chief pleaded with the Hon. DCE to repair their faulty borehole water and also helped them to complete their modern KG school.

The District Chief Executive of Bosomtwe District Assembly, Hon. Joseph Kwasi Asuming, Esq., greeted on behalf of Ashanti Regional Minister, the MP for Bosomtwe and Minister of Education, and the NPP Regional Chairman. The then welcomed members present in the occasion.

The DCE stated in his address that the project was brought to Woarakose to end open defecation. He pleaded with the community to take proper care of the toilet facility. He also talked about how to take proper account and stated that the Assembly would get 30% of the money collected and 70% would be there for the maintenance of the facility.

The DCE subsequently educated community members on building permit where individual are to visit the Assembly for permit before he or she can be able to build a house or place a container. He talked about tax and pleaded with the community members to pay tax.

The Unit Committee Financial Secretary, Joyce Amofa in her closing remarks, thanked the Almighty God and also thanked the Chief for giving out a portion of land for the project. She thanked the Hon. DCE for the project and also thanked the District Coordinating Director, Agatha Ahia for supporting the DCE in developing Bosomtwe and Woarakose as well.
