As part of the Natioinal Commission for Civic Education activities to commemorate it annual Citizenship Week Celebration, the Bosomtwe District Office on 6th June, 2023 engaged the students of the Kuntenase D/A on the theme; ‘’30 years of Consolidating Constitutional Democracy; Building National Cohesion. The Role of a Child’’.
The program which seeks to remind the school pupils of their responsibilities as agents of change, and the role they can play to build a democratic Ghana: peaceful, strong and united nation was resourced by Ms. Agartha Ahia (District Coordinating Director), Hajia Nadira (Head of Procurement Dept) Mr. Dickson Obeng (Head of Social Welfare & Comm. Development).
The resource persons in their turns empowered the children to appreciate the dividends of democratic governance and to act as agents/ambassadors of change in consolidating the gains to building a united nation. They were charged as ambassadors to ensure their fundamental human rights are not infringed upon and must also replicate same by performing their duties and responsibilities as stipulated in the 1992 Constitution. Mr. Albert Bentil, NCCE District Director also admonished the pupils to be law abiding; adhering to rules and regulations set-out by school authorities and at all times demonstrate our rich Ghanaian values for a better Ghana which includes; Patriotism and nationalism, Promote the prestige and good name of Ghana and respect the symbols of the nation, To uphold and defend this Constitution and the law, To foster national unity and live in harmony with others, Respect the rights of others and Ensure a clean environment and good hygiene practices by not littering and choking gutters.
