
The Government of Ghana with the vision to improve the system of education by providing conducive environment for teaching and learning and also increase enrollment in various schools has through the Ministry for Education awarded for the construction of the above projects in the mentioned communities.
On Monday 23rd March, 2020 a delegation led by the Honorable District Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph K. Asuming with the District Coordinating Director, the District Education P.R.O, the District Engineer, the District Planning Officer, the District Information Officer, the Hon. Presiding Member, the Constituency Chairman with some executives of the New Patriotic Party, and the media paid a courtesy call to the Chief and elders of the above mentioned communities in order to pave way for the groundbreaking ceremony.
The Hon. District Chief Executive addressing the chiefs and elders gave the reason for the visit by the delegation as the intention of the government through the Honorable Member of Parliament to construct 1.No. 2 Storey Classroom Block, BOSOMTWE STEM ACADEMY, 1.No. 6 Unit Class room block and a 1. No. Headmistress Bungalow, 1. No. Headmistress Bungalow and a 1 no. Science/ICT laboratory, 1 No. Kindergarten (KG) with ancillary facilities(2) at Feyiase, Jachie, Pramso, Deduako, Woarakese and Kuntenase respectively. He further said the move was in connection with the One Million Dollars/ One Constituency initiative by the government and Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) projects, hence the delegation led by the Honorable District Chief Executive was to cut sod for the commencement of the mentioned projects.
Further in his address, he educated members present on the need to observe the basic protective measures adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) to combat Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak.
The Chiefs and Elders in turn lauded the Government of Ghana for bringing such developmental projects to their communities, thanked the Hon. DCE for the education and promised a continuous support for the government and the assembly to educate their people on how important it is to carry out the basic protective measures to fight the disease outbreak.
The delegation together with the contractors for the above mentioned projects were led to inspect various sites where the projects are to be constructed. The groundbreaking ceremony ended with the Honorable District Chief Executive together with the Chiefs of the various communities cutting sod for the commencement of the projects.
