THE PRESIDENT VISIT TO ASHANTI REGION

The President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Sunday, 3rd October 2021, paid a courtesy call on the Omanhene of Kuntanase Traditional council, Barima Amankwah Adunan II at his Palace at Kuntanase as part of the president 4 day working visit to Ashanti region.

The main purpose of the President’s visit was to thank the Omanhene and the good people of Kuntanase for their support given to him and his government and also to inspect ongoing and completed developmental projects in the district which includes; Dompoase to Kuntenase road which is under construction, Sewuah Regional hospital, Bosomtwe Girls Senior High, Bosomtwe Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Academy, Atonsu to Kuntanase double road etc.

At the Omanhene’s Palace, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo was welcomed together with his entourage which included Hon. Akoto Afriyie (Minister for Agriculture), Hon Kyei Mensah-Bonsu (Majority Leader, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and MP for Suame Constituency), Hon. Cecilia Abena Dapaah (Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources), Hon. Simon Osei Mensah (Ashanti Regional Minister), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako (Regional Chairman, New Patriotic Party), Hon. Joseph Kwasi Asuming Esq (District Chief Executive, Bosomtwe District Assembly) and some high profile dignitaries from Government and the ruling New Patriotic Party.

Addressing the gathering, the Omanhene was very much grateful for the President’s visit and thanked him for the good works he did for the Bosomtwe District during his first term as president in the areas of Health, Education, Agriculture, Youth Employment, Roads, Waste Management etc and also the marvelous works he is doing for the District in his second term. The Omanhene took the opportunity to make known to the president some of the challenges facing the District which included the Atonsu to Kuntanase double road (which is very close to completion), the expansion of ST. Michael’s Vocational Training School, a Municipal Status for the Bosomtwe Assembly, Kuntanase Town Roads, the development of Kumasi Technical University campus at Kuntanase and many more.

The President in turn took time to address all the issues and great concerns raised by the Omanhene and promised to work on them especially those that needed to be done immediately. He further expressed his appreciation for the support given to him by the good people of Kuntanase as well as the effort of the District Assembly in the development of the District.
