On Monday, 6th June, 2022, the Bosomtwe District witnessed a sod cutting ceremony at Abrankese. The ceremony was graced with the present of H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Vice President of the Republic, as the Guest of Honour, His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister for Education.
The District Chief Executive (Hon. Joseph Kwesi Asuming, ESQ), District Coordinating Director, GES Director, District Engineer, Staff, Chief, some Assembly Members and other Dignitaries in the Bosomtwe District Assembly were present to make the programme a success.
The ceremony was organized by the Government to create innovative programmes and projects in education sector that will proactively contribute to government’s policy of “reforming and strengthening the Education system and institutions to provide education for all Ghanaians. The Ministry of Education and the Commission for TVET has taken a step to ensure the establishment of 32 state-of-the art Technical and Vocational Educational Training Centers across Ghana in three phases. The first phase of this landmark project consists of the development of 9 state-of-art center.
It was indicated that Planet One Group was their “Choice of Partner” for this prestigious project. The Planet One group has rich experience of developing and executing project across the continuum of education. They added that, the group has successfully completed the overall upgrading and modernization of all erstwhile 34 NVTI (National Vocational Training Institute) centers, apprenticeship office, regional office and the Head Office one erstwhile OIC center and two foundries and machining centers in Kumasi and Accra.
The sod cutting was the done by H.E the Vice President after the Part I of the programmes.
