In line with government’s commitment to improve environmental cleanliness and promote suitable waste management, a cleanup exercise was undertaken on Saturday 12th April, 2025 within the Jachie-Pramso Area Council specifically the Esereso East and West areas in fulfilment of the reintroduction of the National Sanitation Day (NSD) by H. E. John Dramani Mahama. The exercise commenced at exactly 6:15am. The area of concern was the entire community but limited to the sweeping of the main road, lorry station, desilting of choked drains in front of stalls, and collection of waste to the final disposal site.
Turn up was encouraging with both the young and the elderly in participation. Both Honorable Members of the two (2) zones was in attendance with their Committee Members and Environmental Health Officers. the exercise was also graced with the presence of the District Coordinating Director (DCD). All waste was transported the final dumpsite. Due to the massive attendance, much cleaning was attained making the area clean and odorless which will improve the well-being of individuals residing within the neighborhood. Members present educated participants to keep the surrounding clean.
