The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) in collaboration with Ministry of Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGDRD) with technical support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), German Development Corporation (GIZ), Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), National Development Commission (NDPC), Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), is embarking on a project on Administrative Data Compilation in the various MMDAs in Ghana.
In view of this, the District Statistical Department organized a one-day Validation Workshop for some Selected Departments in the District to validate the Administrative Data that has been compiled and submitted to the Department on 27TH JUNE, 2022 at BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY, CONFERENCE ROOM. The main objective; was to examine the data submitted carefully and to see if it’s a true representation of the district. Also identify all discrepancies and inaccuracies for onward correction.
The training was attended by the Agatha Ahia, District Co-Ordinating Director, Thomas Baafi, District Education Directorate, Eric Frimpong, District. Works Department, Adusei Amponsah, District Social Welfare & Community Development Officer, Phyllis Abrokwah, District Budget Analyst, Dorothy Kufumah, District Social Welfare & Community Development, Amanda Addai-Tinagyaa, District Statistician, Boakye Wilberforce Awere, District Assistant Statistician, Collins Donkor, Health Information Officer (Ghana Health Service), Asamoah Eva, Development Planning Officer, Dpw/Sgt Elizabeth Sabah District Police CID, Inspector Ahafia Mathias, District Police Road Safety, Kwamina Bartels, District Agric Officer, Gordon Acheampong, Business Advisory Centre, Lucy Amponsah, District. Environmental Health Officer.
The validation workshop was necessary and very insightful. Also, it would enable the MMDA’s to build effective administrative data system, aid decision making and meet public (user) needs.
