Pipie

On Friday 11th September, 2020 a delegation led by the Honorable District Chief Executive Hon. Joseph Kwasi Asuming, District Coordinating Director Madam Agartha Ahia, District Heath Director Dr. Twumasi, Assistant Director, District Planning Officer, District Engineer, District Information Officer commissioned CHPS compound at Pipie. A ceremony which was held at the forecourt of the Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) compound at Pipie welcomed chiefs, elders, and people of Pipie and the media.

Nana Boatemaa, the queen mother of Pipie in her welcoming address thanked the Hon. District Chief Executive and the Akuffo-Addo led government in general for the massive development undertaken in the District of which Pipie community is benefiting. She said the Pipie CHPS compound will contribute immensely to the saving of lives of the people of Pipie and its environs. She added, the CHPS compound will be very helpful to the pregnant and expecting mothers, children and the aged who have to access healthcare in far communities. She was therefore excited about the wonderful edifice that her community has witnessed.

The District Health Director in his introductory address, thanked the Honorable District Chief Executive and the assembly for the efforts to improving access to quality healthcare in the Bosomtwe District of which Pipie community has also witnessed a CHPS compound. He further said, the CHPS compound which is a community-based healthcare facility requires collective efforts from inhabitants of the community and therefore urged them to own, maintain and patronize the facility in order to ensure access to basic healthcare services as well as promote good and healthy living in the area.

Ending his speech he entreated the people of Pipie community to continue adhering to Covid-19 safety protocols since it is the only way to preventing the spread.

The Hon. District Chief Executive in his address expressed his satisfaction for the presence of the health facility in the community. He said the CHPS compound formed part of the assembly’s and government’s contribution to improving access to basic quality healthcare in various communities. He again said the facility will serve as a first aid for attending to basic health problems.

Further in his speech, he hinted on the government’s intention to developing the Bosomtwe Lake front hence major facelift projects like roads will be constructed in communities around the lake. He again touched on several developmental projects undertaken and ongoing in the Bosomtwe District which includes construction of schools, bridges, roads, green-house farming, sharing of palm seedlings etc.

Closing his speech, he urged members present especially inhabitants around the Bosomtwe Lake to desist from activities that destroys the water body. He again said bye-laws have been instituted to regulate activities around the Lake hence inhabitants are to adhere to the laws to avoid been prosecuted. He also thanked residence of Pipie and solicited for their continuous support for the Nana-Addo lead government in the upcoming elections so Bosomtwe District and Ghana as a whole could continue witnessing massive developments.
