
On Tuesday, October 20, 2020 the Bosomtwe District Assembly commissioned a newly built Police Station for the security of the people in the Abono Community under the Bosomtwe Constituency which called in NANA OTUO ANTWI BOSIAKO II, ABONOHENE, HON. J.K ASUMING District Chief Executive, HON. SIMON OSEI MENSAH, Ashanti Regional Minister and COP KWESI MENSAH DUKU” (Ashanti Regional Police Commander) to make the commissioning a memorable one.
Addressing the media, NANA OTUO ANTWI BOSIAKO II who was the chairman of the program welcomed everyone on his land to pave way for the program to commence and also gave a brief speech. He concluded by showing appreciation to the President and also hoped to get an additional Police Stations in other neighboring communities in the subsequent years ahead.
The District Chief Executive, HON. J.K ASUMING congratulated NANA OTUO ANTWI BOSIAKO II for gifting them a land to build such a Police Station to help protect the lives of the people in the Abono Community and also extended his appreciation to the contractor who worked on the project for his good work done and disclosed that they need a violence-free community so all citizens must help to promote peace and unity in the community.
Last but not least, the Regional Commander, COP KWESI MENSAH DUKU expressed how delightful he was to be at such an august occasion. He then out doored three Police Officers to be in charge of the new police station and tasked them to maintain the building handed them.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, HON. SIMON OSEI MENSAH thanked all the dignitaries present for gracing such occasion. He thanked the DCE for spearheading such project since the Abono Township is a tourist site. He further talked about how the police was helping to promote security in Ghana. He also thanked the Chief of Abono, NANA OTUO ANTWI BOSIAKO II for giving them a land to build the Police Station and also advised the Police Officers to observe maintenance culture. Finally, he entreated the public to adhere to the Covid –19 safety protocols to keep the community safe.
