The Government of Ghana with the vision to improve the system of education by providing conducive environment for teaching, learning as well as increase enrollment in various schools has through the Ministry for Education awarded for the construction of the above projects in the mentioned communities within d Bosomtwe District Assembly.
On Monday 3rd August 2020, a delegation led by the Honorable Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe Constituency and Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum with the Honorable District Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph K. Asuming paid a courtesy call to the Chief and elders of the above mentioned communities in order to pave way for the groundbreaking ceremony.
In attendance was the District Coordinating Director, Madam Agartha Ahia, the District Constituency Chairman for the New Patriotic Party, Chairman, some staffs of the District assembly and education office, and the media.
The Hon. District Chief Executive in an introductory address to the chiefs and elders of the above mentioned communities gave the reason for the visit by the delegation as the intention of the government through the Honorable Member of Parliament to construct 1.No. 6 Unit classroom block and a 1.No. 6-unit toilet facility each at Pipie and Krom-Adwafo and a 1 No. Kindergarten (KG) with ancillary facilities (2) at Ayuom. He further said the move was in connection with the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFUND) projects, hence the delegation led by the Honorable Member of Parliament was to cut sod for the commencement of the mentioned projects.
Further in his address, he educated members present on the need to observe the basic protective measures adopted by the World Health Organization (WHO) to combat Corona virus (COVID-19) pandemic outbreak and also entreated them to fully partake in the ongoing voter registration exercise in order to enable them vote in the upcoming elections scheduled for December 7.
The Honorable Member of Parliament in his address to the chiefs and elders briefly highlighted on the intentions of the government to effectively and efficiently enhance education in the district and country as a whole hence the initiative to make education easily accessible by every Ghanaian child in the country. He again said not only is the government poised at making education accessible but also improve its’ standards in terms of quality, hence the government’s intention to construct fully equipped infrastructures in schools across the country of which Bosomtwe district is also benefiting, some of which include; Administration block at Beposo and Jachie Pramso Senior High School, 6 unit classroom blocks at Asisiriwa, Feyiase, Jachie, Pranyease etc.
Closing his speech, he thanked the chiefs and elders of respective communities and urged them to continuously support him and his government to attaining power for a long time so the district and country at large can witness such developments.
The delegation together with the contractors for the above mentioned projects were led to inspect various sites where the projects are to be constructed. The groundbreaking ceremony ended with the Honorable Member of Parliament, the Honorable District Chief Executive together with the Chiefs of the various communities cutting sod for the commencement of the projects.
