One of the President Akufo Addo initiative is to make Ghana the cleanest city in Africa. To make this big dream of the president to come to pass, Juspong Group of Company Zoom Lion Ghana has constructed compositing plant at Adagya in Ashanti Region. The project was commissioned on Monday 28th September, 2020 at Adagya. A lot of dignitaries came to witnessed this occasion. These include; His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, His Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu II, Ministers of States, Members of Parliament, Reverend Ministers, District Chief Executives, Foreign Nationals, Diplomats from various countries and other dignitaries.
Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyapong, the CEO of Juspong Group Company expressed his gratitude to Otumfour Osei Tutu II for granting the company 150 acres of land at Adagya for the construction of the plant and to the past presidents of the republic of Ghana for their counselling for paving way for the construction of the plant. He continued that the plant is one of the biggest in Africa. The plant can take about 2400 tons of rubbish daily of which Kumasi generates 1500 tons of rubbish daily. The cost of construction of the plant was 95 million Dollars. It can employ 800 direct workers and 1500 indirect jobs. In nationwide Juspong Group of Company employs over 51000 people.
Hon. Cecilia Abenaa Dapaa, Minister of Sanitation and Water Resources asserted that Ghana rubbish generated by the country only 60% of them are recyclable. She continued that six of the recycling plant has been commissioned in the country.
His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo congratulated Juspong Group of Company for coming out with such a project. He continued that the composite plant is going to help the Planting for Food and Jobs by producing fertilizer. He admonished the people to observe the COVID 19 protocols as the pandemic continues to strive with us. After that the president duly commissioned the project.
