DISTRICT CHIEF EXECUTIVE ELECTIONS

The Bosomtwe District Assembly on Tuesday 20th May, 2025 observed the District Chief Executive elections in the Kessben University at Petrensa. The motive was to elect a DCE to steer and drive the assembly to achieving unity, solidarity and growth. The meeting saw a record attendance with a membership of 50 Assembly Members with 35 Members and 15 Appointees. The Heads of Department and Unit were also in attendance to witness the occasion and also the District Chief Executives from the neighboring Assemblies. The Bosomtwe District Assembly former DCE and Chief also graced the occasion with their present.

The EC stated that candidate should win with 2/3 of the total 50 potential vote cast to be pronounced as the DCE. She indicated that the voting would be a “YES” or “NO” since we had one candidate. Elections commenced and ended successfully with ballot papers sorted and then counted. The results were counted as follows: TOTAL VOTE CAST = 48, REJECTED = 0, YES = 48, NO = 0, ABSENT = 2. This emphatic win was presented to be a 100% win, thus making the presented candidate the District Chief Executive elect.

Hon. Eng. Abdullah Hamidu was declared District Chief Executive and sworn in. He thanked the Assembly Members for the love and support shown and pleaded that they work together with him for the growth of the assembly. He also thanked Assembly Members for trusting him and voting for him. He then promised to abide with all rules and regulations and also seek for guidance and advise when needed.
