DISBURSEMENT TO PWDs
The Disability Fund Management Committee of the Bosomtwe District Assembly organized a short but epoch-making ceremony to present items to deserving beneficiaries of the Disability Common Fund. In all seventeen (17) deserving PWDs who had earlier on been selected and assessed were presented with items which was intended to put food on their table if utilized well.
STAKEHOLDERS FORUM (TOWN HALL MEETING)
As part of the District Assembly Performance to improve revenue collection and socio-economic factors of the district, The Bosomtwe District Assembly held a stakeholders’ forum to sensitize members on some activities of the assembly on Friday, 29th December, 2023 at the Methodist Church-Kuntanase.
DISTRICT LEVEL ELECTIONS EDUCATION
The Bosomtwe NCCE directorate, in its pursuit to fulfill its constitutional mandate of ensuring the effective delivery of civic messages to the Ghanaian citizenry, engaged various stakeholders such as Faith-Based Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Artisans, Identifiable Groups, etc. through face-to-face interactions, information centers, and community outreach.
39TH DISTRICT FARMERS’ DAY CELEBRATION
The year’s edition of the District Farmers’ Day Celebration on the theme “Delivering Smart Solutions for Sustainable Food Security and Resilience” came off on Friday, 1st December, 2023 at Piase R/C Primary School Park. The program was marked with Agricultural Fair and Awards. Various kinds of awards were distributed to farmers whose efforts provided food, raw materials and earn foreign exchange for the district and country as a whole.
MONITORING OF BENEFICIARIES OF THE DISABILITY FUND
As part of efforts to empower Persons with Disability, the Government of Ghana in 2005 introduced the Disability Fund (currently 3% of the District Assembly’s Common Fund) which is deducted from the District Assembly’s Common Fund and paid into a separate account under the District Assembly, the Disability Fund Management Committee has therefore established an effective monitoring system to ensure deserving beneficiaries utilise the fund to minimise poverty among persons living with disability.
COMMEMORATING WORLD TOILET DAY
The Bosomtwe District Assembly on 24th November, 2023 commemorated world toilet day at Jachie. The theme for the program was “ACCELERATING CHANGE FOR FAST SANITATION”. The program also invited all heads of department, District coordinating director, environmental health officers, assembly members and community members. The program was in collaboration with Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, the World Bank and Sanitation and Water Project.
COMMISSIONING OF AMBULANCE BAY WITH OFFICES AND RESIDENTIAL ACCOMMODATION
The Bosomtwe District Assembly on Tuesday, 21st November, 2023 commissioned An Ambulance Bay with Offices and Residential Accommodation at the District Health Service-Kuntanase. The commissioning was graced with the presence of the District Chief Executive, The District Coordinating Director, District Health Directorate, District Ambulance Service, District Fire Service, Nananom, Assembly Member, Some Staff of The Assembly and Community Members.
COMMISSIONING OF 1NO. 12-SEATER WATER CLOSET TOILET WITH MECHANIZED BOREHOLE
On Tuesday, 21st November, 2023, the Bosomtwe District Assembly commissioned a 1no. 12-Seater Water Closet Toilet with Mechanized Borehole at Kuntanase. The commissioning was graced with the presence of the District Chief Executive, The District Coordinating Director, District Ambulance Service, District Fire Service, Nananom, Assembly Member, Some Staff of The Assembly and Community Members.
TRAINING WORKSHOP FOR TOURIST GUARDS AND SWIMMERS AT ABONO
The Bosomtwe District Human Resource Management in collaboration with NADMO and CNC-PRO organized a one-day Training Workshop for Tourist Guards and Swimmers at Abono. The meeting was held on 7th November, 2023 at the District Conference Hall. The meeting was graced with the presence of the District Coordinating Director, Human Resource Manager, NADMO, CNC-PRO and Tourist Guards and Swimmers at Abono.
THE SECOND ORDINARY MEETING OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
The Second Ordinary Meeting of the 4th Session of the 8th Assembly of Bosomtwe District Assembly was held on Monday 30th October, 2023 at the Assembly’s Conference Hall, Kokoado.
FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING
On Wednesday, 11th October, 2023 the Bosomtwe District Assembly held their Finance and Administration Sub-Committee Meeting at the District Conference Hall. The meeting discussed previous minutes, the 2024 Draft Composite Budget of the District Assembly and Other Matters. The meeting started at exactly 10am.
GAMA SANITATION AND WATER PROJECT
The Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Hon. Dr. Freda Akosua Prempeh commissioned a 38 completed Institutional Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) facilities for schools in Greater Kumasi. The facilities are among the 129 institutional toilet facilities to be provided within the Greater Kumasi through the GAMA/GKMA Sanitation and Water Project being funded by the World Bank. Ninety-One (91) of such facilities are at the various stages of completion across Greater Kumasi.

The Bosomtwe District Assembly on Monday, 9th October, 2023 held their Budget Committee Meeting at the District Conference Hall. The meeting discussed the 2024 Draft Composite Budget of the District Assembly and Other Matters. The meeting started at exactly 10am.
A WORKING VISIT IN SCHOOLS
On Tuesday 3rd October, 2023, to mark ‘My First Day at School’, The District Coordinating Director, Madam Agatha Ahia, and the District Education Director paid a working visit in Obo community in the district.
INSECTION CONDUCTION IN SCHOOLS
As part of the Bosomtwe District Assembly’s vision to promote education, the District Coordinating Director, Madam Agatha Ahia together with the District Education Director paid a working visit in some selected communities and schools within the communities on Tuesday 3rd October, 2023. The schools visited includes Asuoho Adwafo and Nkowi.
MY FIRST DAY AT SCHOOL
The District Coordinating Director (DCD) of the Bosomtwe District Assembly, together with the District Education Director visited some basic schools in the District on Tuesday, 3rd October, 2023 to mark ‘My First Day at School’. The visitation was accompanied by the District Internal Auditor, MIS Officer and some other staff.
OBSERVATION OF 2023 WORLD RABIES DAY IN THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
The world rabies day was observed in the Bosomtwe District on Thursday, the 28th day of September, 2023 with the Theme: All for 1, One Heath for all. In attendance was Mr. Yamoah a rep for MP of Bosomtwe District, the District Environmental Health Officer, Mr. Charles Sasah Tetteh, Prof. Benjamin Obukowho Emikpe, Dean for KNUST School of Vertinary Medicine, Mad. Victoria Dery, Mr. Larry, the District Veterinary Officer and the face of HESA-KNUST, Alberta Essiama Affran.
NCCE HOLDS CLEAN UP EXERCISE AT JACHIE, SUBURB OF BOSOMTWE DISTRICT
The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) in collaboration with the Bosomtwe District Assembly held a clean up exercise at Jachie, a suburb of the Bosomtwe District in the Ashanti Region to get rid of filth on Tuesday, 26th September, 2023.
EDUCATING FARMERS/STAKEHOLDERS ON PERD/LIVESOCK AND RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION
The Agricultural Department of the Bosomtwe District Assembly held a meeting on September 22nd, 2023 at the Agricultural Conference Hall. The purpose of the gathering was to discuss and implement measures to enhance the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) and also educate Farmers on how to manage livestock. Attendees included local farmers and individuals interested in farming, including prospective agricultural entrepreneurs. The event was led by Mr. Eric Fofie, the Agricultural Director of the district.
AUDIT COMMITEE MEETING OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
The meeting was held on Wednesday, 20th September 2023 at exactly 10:00am at the District Chief Executives Office. The meeting touched on Opening Remarks by Chairman, Reading/Correction/Acceptance of Previous Minutes, Matters Arising from Previous Minutes, Discussion on 2nd Quarter, 2023 Internal Audit Report, Any Other Business and Adjournment.
The meeting invited the District Chief Executive, the District Coordinating Director, District Revenue Head, Internal Auditor, Chairman of the Committee and all Revenue Collectors.
THE 3RD QUARTER DISTRICT PLANNING CO-ORDINATING UNIT MEETING
The District Planning Coordinating Unit (DPCU) convened its third quarter meeting on Thursday, September 14th, 2023, at the District Assembly Conference Hall.
