BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING OF BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY (DAY 2)

The Bosomtwe District Assembly On Friday, 7th October, 2022 met at the Assembly’s Conference Hall to finally deliberate on 2023 Composite Budget, Fee Fixing and Revenue Improvement Action Plan and taken to Management meeting for final discussion. Presentation was led by the District Budget Analyst on Revenue Improvement Action Plan and all recommendations and questions asked was kindly answered respectively.

TOWN HALL MEETING ON 2023 FEE FIXING (DAY 1) AT BONESO AREA COUNCIL

As part of measures to ensure participation of the citizenry in the process of governance and in pursuance of the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936), a town hall meeting was organized by the Bosomtwe District Assembly on 24th August, 2022 on the 2023 Fee Fixing of the Assembly. The meeting was held at the Methodist Church, Brodekwano.

TOWN HALL MEETING ON 2023 FEE FIXING (DAY 2) AT KUNTANASE AREA COUNCIL

A town hall meeting was organized by the Bosomtwe District Assembly on 25th August, 2022 on the 2023 Fee Fixing of the Assembly to lecture the area council on the Assembly's property and business rate. The meeting was held at Toamfom Pentecost Church,Kuntanase.

TOWN HALL MEETING ON 2023 FEE FIXING (DAY 3) AT JACHIE AREA COUNCIL

As part of measures to ensure participation of the citizenry in the process of governance and in pursuance of the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936), a town hall meeting was organized by the Bosomtwe District Assembly on 26th August, 2022 on the 2023 Fee Fixing of the Assembly. The last meeting was held at Jachie Area Council in Jachie Pentecost Church.

VISIT OF DEPUTY MINSTER OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT TO BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development, Hon. Augustine Collins Ntim paid a working visit to the Bosomtwe District Assembly on the Tuesday 13th September 2022. A welcome programme was organized at the District Assembly Hall to welcome the Deputy Minister.

CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP ON MINUTES AND REPORT WRITING

A one-day Capacity Building Programme was held for Heads of Department and some core staff of the Bosomtwe District Assembly at the District Conference Hall on the 23rd August 2022. The training was organized by the HRM Department with technical support from Geowilson Consult in collaboration with the District Deputy Director.

3RD QUARTER DISTRICT PLANNING COORDINATING UNIT MEETING

In fulfilment of Act 936 Section 85 (a) and (b) of Local Government Act 2016, the Development Planning Sub-Committee organized their 3rd DPCU meeting on Wednesday 7th September, 2022 held at the District Conference Hall to discuss matter concerning the Assembly and the Sub-Committee.

The meeting witnessed the present of the District Coordinating Director, Development Sub-Committee and all Heads of Department in the District Assembly.

SOD CUTTING ON CONSTRUCTION OF 1NO FEMALE WARD, DISPENSARY AND LABORATORY

On the 12th September, 2022, the District Chief Executive together with some selected head of departments embarked on a sod cutting to begin the construction of a health center at the Abono community.

HONOURING OF HON. DR. YAW OSEI ADUTWUM IN BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

On Sunday 28th August, 2022, chiefs of the Bosomtwe District Assembly organized a programme to honour the MP for Bosomtwe and the Minister of Education. The programme was graced with the presence of Chiefs (Nananom) of the Assembly, District Chief Executive (Hon. Lawyer Joseph kwasi Asuming), the District Chairman, constituency leaders, Families and invited guests.

A SPEECH DELIVERED BY ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICERS DURING ACLEAN UP EXERCISE AND A DURBAR

On Friday, 12th August, 2022, Environmental Health Officers of Bosomtwe  District Assembly were invited to give a talk on Environmental Sanitation to honour a clean-up exercise and a durbar organised by Linash School Complex in collaboration with staff of Oyoko CHIPS compound, Nananom and Unit committee Members of Aduaben. Three Environmental Health Officers in the persons of Mr. Paul Oduro, Ms. Hanaan Appiadu Boateng and Ms. Mabel Azure attended the program.

FORMATION OF COMMUNITY ACTION PLAN AND COMMUNITY CHILD PROTECTION COMMITTEE DEDUAKO COMMUNITY

As enshrined in the Convention on the Right of the child of which Ghana was led in its adoption by becoming the first country to ratify and the Children’s Act (Act 560, 1998); Government and Non state institutions are expected to provide working frameworks and activities that protect children against harm and injury; it was therefore welcoming news as Nyonkopa and the District Assembly collaborated to support child protection in the District.

MEDICAL SCREENING FOR FOOD VENDORS AT BONESO AREA COUNCIL

The Environmental Health Unit of the Bosomtwe District Assembly is undertaking their annual medical screening for food handlers and vendors in the Boneso Area Council. Sensitization on the screening has been given to community members to prepare theirselves towards the screening. The program starts in the morning and ends in the evening. At the moment a total of forty-one (41) handlers and vendors have being medically screened. The exercise is still on going.

BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING OF BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Bosomtwe District Assembly held their Budget Committee meeting in the District Assembly Conference hall at 10:00am on 16th August, 2022. The agenda discussed during the meeting were Reading of Previous minutes, Discussion of 2022 Mid-Year Review, Discussion of 2022 Fee Fixing Resolution and Any Other Business.

ONE-DAY ADMINISTRATIVE DATA VALIDATION TRAINING BY THE DISTRICT STATISTICIAN

The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) in collaboration with Ministry of Local Government Decentralization and Rural Development (MLGDRD) with technical support from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), German Development Corporation (GIZ), Commonwealth Local Government Forum (CLGF), National Development Commission (NDPC), Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI), is embarking on a project on Administrative Data Compilation in the various MMDAs in Ghana.

BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY NATIONAL COMPETITIVE TENDERING

The Bosomtwe District Assembly (BDA) intends to apply part of its budgetary allocation from its share of District Assembly Common Fund- Responsiveness Factor Grant (DACF-RFG) through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to fund eligible payments under the contract for the procurement of the Works and Goods Contract.

INSPECTION OF ON-GOING PROJECT IN KONKOMA COMMUNITY

The District Assembly accompanied the Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe District and Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum to Konkoma Community to inspect an on-going classroom project as part of the measures to solve the educational infrastructural slit in the District on Friday, 5th August, 2022.

A SOD CUTTING CEREMONY AT BRODEKWENO, EDWINASE, ADAGYA AND AMANKWADEI

As part of measure to solve the educational infrastructural gap in the Bosomtwe District Assembly, the Member of Parliament and Minister for Education, Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum lobbied for the construction of a Classroom Block at Brodekwano, Amankwadei, and a KG block at Edwinase and Adagya.

DISTRICT EDUCATION OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE (DEOC) MEETING

The Education Oversight Committee on Tuesday, 19th July, 2022 held a meeting at the District Assembly Conference Room to discuss matters of the committee.
