COMMISSIONING OF 1NO. 10-SEATER AQUA PRIVY TOILET FACILITY AT BRODEKWANO

As part of efforts to improve sanitation in the District, the Assembly successfully completed the construction of 1NO. 10-Seater Aqua Privy Toilet Facility at Brodekwano Methodist JHS. This was commissioned on Tuesday, 28th May, 2024 and handed over to the community. Community members were advice to keep it clean and maintain it.

THE 5TH SPATIAL PLANNING COMMITTEE MEETING OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Bosomtwe District Assembly organized their 5th spatial planning committee meeting on Wednesday, 22nd May, 2024 in the District Conference Hall. The meeting discussed Previous Minutes, Matters Arising, Presentation of Development Application Received, Presentation on Aputuogya Market and Other Matters.

WELLNESS SCREENING – BOSOMTWE DISTRICT HEALTH DIRECTORATE

The Bosomtwe District Health Directorate implemented a wellness clinic to curb the rise of Hypertension and Diabetes case within the district. In view of this the Health Directorate visited the District Assembly to organize a wellness checkup on staff on Tuesday, 21st May, 2024 in the Assembly’s Conference Hall. The team examined Blood Pressure, Diabetes Status, BMI, Height and weight.

INAUGURATION OF UNIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS, ELECTION OF AREA COUNCIL MEMBERS AND AREA COUNCIL CHAIRPERSONS OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Bosomtwe District Assembly following the successful conduct of the District Level Election in December, 2023 and in accordance with the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936), inaugurated the newly elected Unit Committee Members of Jachie Area Council on Friday, 17th May, 2024 at the Church of Pentecost-Jachie. Members Were Sworn-in by The District Chief Executive.

THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY INAUGURATION OF UNIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS, ELECTION OF AREA COUNCIL MEMBERS AND AREA COUNCIL CHAIRPERSONS

Following the successful conduct of the District Level Election in December, 2023 and in accordance with the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936), the new Unit Committee Members of Kuntanase Area Council was inaugurated and sworn-in on Friday, 17th May, 2024 at the Methodist Church. This delegation was led by the District Chief Executive.

THE INAUGURATION OF UNIT COMMITTEE MEMBERS, ELECTION OF AREA COUNCIL MEMBERS AND AREA COUNCIL CHAIRPERSONS OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The newly elected Unit Committee Members of Boneso Area Council was inaugurated and sworn-in on Friday, 17th May, 2024 at the Methodist Church-Brodekwano. This delegation was led by the District Chief Executive. This was done following the successful conduct of the District Level Election in December, 2023 and in accordance with the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936).

NBS PROJECT INCEPTION AND VALIDATION OF VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENT

 The ‘Nature-based Climate Adaption in the Guinean Forest of West Africa Project’ – NbS funded by Global Affairs Canada on Tuesday, 7th May, 2024 in collaboration with the Bosomtwe District Assembly organized a training to Incept Project and Validate Vulnerability Assessment of the Assembly.

A DAY TRAINING WORKSHOP ON THE UPLOAD OF DATA ONTO THE DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT DATA PLATFORM (DDDP) FOR DISTRICT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT TOOL (DPAT)

The indicators for the District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) have been reviewed to include, among other things, the filling in of Sector data and Upload of documents/reports onto the District Development Data Platform (DDDP).

MINERALS COMMISSION ALTERNATIVE LIVELIHOOD PROJECT

The Agricultural Department of the Bosomtwe District Assembly during their second quarter distributed oil palm seedlings to farmers in the community.  The number of farmers who benefited were 151. Males was 101 and 50 Females with the age average of 45years. Farmers recommended that management distribute more seedlings particularly coconut seedlings.

FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING

The Finance and Administration Sub-Committee of Bosomtwe District Assembly held their meeting on Wednesday, 27th March, 2024 at the District Assembly conference hall at 10:00am prompt. The meeting discussed Previous Minutes, financial Performance of the Assembly as at 31st December,2023, Administration Report and Any Other Business.

AGRICULTURE AND BUSINESS SUB-COMMITTEE

The Agriculture and Business Sub-Committee of the Bosomtwe District Assembly held their committee meeting on Wednesday, 27th March, 2024 at the Presiding Member’s office. The meeting was graced with the present of all Members of the Agriculture and Business Sub-Committee, District Planning Officer, District Director of Agriculture and Business Advisory Center, Head.

GHANA NATIONAL EDUCATION CAMPAIGN COALITION MEETING

The Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC) is a network of civic society organization working on the education sector in Ghana, as the civic society mouthpiece on education in Ghana.  Their main is to promote equality pre-tertiary education for all children in Ghana through working with national, regional, district and community based-stakeholders.

GENERAL ASSEMBLY MEETING

The Bosomtwe District Assembly held their general assembly meeting on Monday, 30th December, 2024 at the Assembly’s Conference Hall, Kuntanase. The meeting was graced with the present of the Hon. Assembly Members of the District, District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director and Secretary of the meeting. The meeting commenced at about 11:00 am with an opening prayer followed.

TREE PLANTING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CARE TALK

The Children Ministry of the church of Pentecost – Woarakose in collaboration with the District Environmental Health officers organized a tree planting and environmental care talk to the Woarakose Community. This exercise took place on Wednesday, 6th March, 2024 and community members were educated on keeping their surroundings clean. The tree planted was Royal Palm and other species. The exercise was successfully organized.

DISTRICT SENSITIZATION ON THE BUSINESS IN A BOX PROJECT

The Business Advisory Centre on Tuesday, 5th March, 2024 organized a day’s sensitization programme on new project dubbed the Business in a Box (BizBox) Project. The project was organized by the Government of Ghana through the Ghana Enterprises Agency as the implementing body with its collaborating partner, the Mastercard Foundation which is the funding organization.

MONITORING AND VERIFICATION OF 2023 PERFORMANCE CONTRACT OF MMDAS IN ASHANTI REGION

A Team of Officers from the Regional Coordinating Council visited the Bosomtwe District Assembly to undertake Monitoring and verification exercise on the 2023 Performance Contract on 29th February, 2024. The purpose was to verify the End of Year Evaluation Report for 2023 Performance Contract of MMDAs.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER PHASE TWO

The phase two of the election of presiding member took place at the District Conference Hall, Kokoado on 26th February, 2024. The election was between Hon. Daniel Ronald Adjei and Hon. Richard Obeng. In a quick response, Hon. Richard Oteng, a contestant, announced to that he had agreed to step down for Hon. Ronald Adjei for the interest and smooth running of the Assembly.  He urged all members to vote yes to confirm his compatriot Hon. Ronald Adjei. Members voted “Yes” and “No”.

ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER

The Inauguration of the Ninth (9th) Assembly of the Bosomtwe District Assembly was successfully held on Monday, 12th February, 2024 at the forecourt of the District Assembly. After the inauguration members then moved to the Assembly’s Conference Hall, Kokoado to elect the Presiding Member. The election was graced with the present of Hon. District Chief Executive, District Coordinating Director, District Electoral Commissioner, Staff and Assembly Members.

INAUGURATION OF THE NINTH (9TH) ASSEMBLY OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

The Inauguration of the Ninth (9th) Assembly of the Bosomtwe District Assembly was held on Monday, 12th February, 2024 at the forecourt of the District Assembly. The occasion was graced with the present of Hon. Ignatious Baffour-Awuah, MP for Sunyani West Constituency and Minister for Employment and Labour Relation, Hon.

DISSOLUTION OF THE EIGHTH (8TH) ASSEMBLY OF THE BOSOMTWE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY

Pursuant to Article 146 (1) of the 1992 Constitution, which requires that election should be conducted at every four (4) years to elect new members for the Assembly and following the successful conduct of the District Level Election in December, 2023, new Assembly Members would be inaugurated.
